At Fox's Confectionery Toffee, Mint, Orange, and Raisin Paynes Poppets are all manufactured, here is the story of Toffee Paynes Poppets.
The Toffee Paynes Poppets manufacturing process begins with the delivery of sugar into giant silos at the Fox's site
The sugar along with glucose syrup is then pumped from the silo and taken to a giant cooker where it is heated to around 145 degrees.
The soft toffee is then deposited into moulds which then make their way through a cooling tunnel. At the end of the cooling tunnel, the temperature of the Paynes Poppets has decreased sufficiently to allow them to be pushed out of their moulds onto a conveyor belt.
From the conveyor belt, the uncoated Toffee Paynes Poppets make their way to the first of two holding tanks where they are held prior to coating with chocolate.
Batches of uncoated Paynes Poppets are dropped into giant rotating pans where they are coated in a layer of delicious milk chocolate
The sweets are then coated in a shiny glaze and the sweets are then complete and ready for packing
The Toffee Paynes Poppets then pass to a second holding vessel from where they are either packed into cartons or bags
