THE MAKING OF GLACIER FRUITS

Fox's Glacier Fruits start with the delivery of sugar to into giant silos at the Fox's site

The sugar along with glucose syrup is then pumped from the silo and taken to a giant cooker where it is heated to around 145 degrees

Once the sugar is heated it is at this stage that the lactic acid, natural colours and natural flavours are added

There are six separate flavours Blackcurrant, Raspberry, Strawberry, Lemon, Orange and Lime. Each recipe is produced by a different cooker

Once all the ingredients are mixed, they are deposited into our own unique loaf shape moulds - typical of the Fox's Glacier range

Once in the moulds the sweets pass through a cooling tunnel to allow them to "set". Once the sweets have set they are pushed out of their moulds

The sweets then pass onto a conveyor belt where the flavours are mixed on route to the wrapping machines.

The sweets are wrapped in paper at a rate of up to 800 per minute! Once the sweets have passed through the wrapping stage they once again travel along a conveyor belt where any mis-wrapped sweets are sorted and removed

Fox's Glacier Fruits sorting

Once sorted, the sweets travel via a second conveyor belt to a holding vessel prior to bagging.

The sweets are then bagged in 100g or 200g bags, jars or bulk outers for pick "n" mix before final boxing prior to despatch
